Thais Faggion Vinholo, MD, MSc, is a Cardiac Surgery resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Originally from Londrina in southern Brazil, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Queens University of Charlotte. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research in neuroengineering, which led to a Master’s Degree through a joint program between Duke University and INN-ELS. She went on to receive her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine, where her research centered on thoracic aortic aneurysm and dissection in the context of bicuspid aortic valve. As a CSPH fellow, her work will examine gender and social disparities in the field of cardiac surgery.
