Dr. Abdelhalim grew up in Manotick, Ontario. He attended medical school at the University of Toronto, graduating in 2011. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the same institution and served as Chief Medical Resident at Toronto Western Hospital (UHN) from 2014 to 2015.
Following residency, he joined North York General Hospital as a full-time staff physician and held a lecturer position at the University of Toronto for three years. In 2017, he received the PARQ Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award.
Dr. Tarek has since returned to Toronto Western Hospital, where he is a full-time faculty member with UHN. His clinical and academic interests include ambulatory general internal medicine and resident wellness. He currently serves as the Site Director and Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU) Director for General Internal Medicine at Toronto Western Hospital.
