Dr. Galyna Shabat is a general surgeon and endoscopist at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.

She graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University in Ukraine in 2006. Dr. Shabat began her career in the General Surgery Department at Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, where she also practiced digestive endoscopy and participated in clinical research. She later worked as a surgeon and endoscopist at the National Cancer Institute in Kyiv, Ukraine.

From 2014 to 2016, she completed a fellowship in endoscopic surgery at IRCAD in Strasbourg, France. In 2018, she completed another fellowship in the Colorectal Surgery Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School (Boston, USA), where she continues to collaborate on international research projects.

Her Ukrainian medical degree (2019) and surgical specialization (2021) were formally recognized by the Italian Ministry of Health (via La Sapienza University in Rome). In 2020, she graduated with honors from the Level II Master’s Program in Operative Digestive Endoscopy at the University of Turin, with a thesis titled "Endoscopic Stent as a 'Bridge to Surgery' versus Emergency Surgery in the Management of Left Colon Obstruction."

Dr. Shabat’s clinical practice focuses on general and oncological surgery, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic digestive endoscopy. She is also a member of the Global Medical Knowledge Alliance.
