HealUA App Recognized for Its Social Impact at Web Summit 2024
The Global Medical Knowledge Alliance team proudly presented the HealUA mobile application at Web Summit 2024, the world’s largest technology conference held in Lisbon from November 11–14.
HealUA stood out as a participant in the Startup Alpha program, earning recognition as one of the top startups of 2024. It was chosen to compete in the pitch competition among 2,500 startups and was featured in the Impact Startups program for its contributions to global health and its profound social impact.
“Our app transforms healthcare by giving physicians fast access to peer-to-peer advice on complex medical cases,” said Kateryna Potapova, Chief Strategy Officer at GMKA. “It’s more than just a tool — a bridge connecting leading minds worldwide to improve patient care. Each case becomes part of a growing, unique database of real clinical cases, accessible to physicians everywhere.”
What Is HealUA?
HealUA is a free mobile app for physicians that offers quick access to peer-to-peer consultations. Remarkably, 90% of clinical cases receive responses within 24 hours. The GMKA team, in collaboration with the Empat startup studio, developed HealUA following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.
The app provides physicians with the ability to:
- Submit inquiries about complex clinical cases.
- Receive responses from colleagues via text or video.
- Access a constantly updated database of real clinical cases.
HealUA is available in Ukrainian and English, fostering effective global collaboration and experience sharing. Recommendations on the platform are quality-assured and evidence-based, overseen by leading specialists in various medical fields.
Supporting Ukrainian Physicians in a Time of Crisis
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, over 1,700 medical facilities in the country have been damaged or destroyed. Ukrainian physicians face unprecedented challenges, compounded by limited access to modern protocols, international professional networks, and even basic collaboration tools.
HealUA provides crucial support, helping physicians find expert advice and solutions quickly, even in critical situations.

This year Web Summit brought together over 70,000 participants, including representatives from tech companies, startups, corporations, investors, media, academia, and marketing professionals.
At the event, the GMKA team showcased HealUA among the world’s leading startups, earning recognition from experts. The CEO of Web Summit’s startup program praised HealUA’s innovative approach and its potential to transform the global medical community.
