GMKA founders presented at the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Surgery Grand Rounds
The founders of the international medical organization”Global Medical Knowledge Alliance”, Dr. Serguei Melnitchouk and Dr. Nelya Melnitchouk, called for American surgeons to strengthen support for Ukraine, particularly that in the field of health care, during the war with Russia.
Doctors of Ukrainian origin announced this at Grand Rounds — an educational conference for surgeons at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston, USA), one of the flagship teaching hospitals for Harvard Medical School.
“I want to emphasize the extraordinary dedication and professionalism of Ukrainian doctors, however, the challenges arising as the result of Russian armed aggression are serious. The Ukrainian health system needs additional resources and support, which we all can provide,” said Dr. Serguei Melnitchouk.
During her speech, Dr. Nelya Melnitchouk emphasized the importance of longitudinal and systematic assistance to the Ukrainian people.
“I really hope that this lengthy war will not weaken the world’s willingness to support Ukrainian medicine. After all, Ukrainians today protect not only their own territory but also the values of democracy,” adds Dr. Nelya Melnitchouk.
Doctors also shared information about GMKA projects aimed at supporting Ukrainian doctors during the war with their colleagues, and thanked those present for their support.
Surgery Grand Rounds are periodic educational events for medical students and hospital staff focusing on topics in clinical education, scientific research, or development of medical technology.
