Dr. Ulana Suprun Joins the Advisory Board of the Global Medical Knowledge Alliance
We are pleased to announce that Ulana Suprun, MD, has joined the Global Medical Knowledge Alliance (GMKA) Advisory Board. Dr. Suprun is a radiologist, former Acting Minister of Health of Ukraine (2016–2019), and Editor-in-Chief of ARC.UA Publishing and The Arc magazine. Her appointment is a significant milestone in GMKA’s mission to strengthen healthcare systems and advance high-quality medical care in Ukraine.
Dr. Suprun is internationally recognized for leading transformative healthcare reforms in Ukraine, introducing patient-centered policies, transparency, and evidence-based clinical standards during a critical period of change. Her leadership and advocacy have had a lasting impact on healthcare governance, medical education, and public trust in medicine.
“Ulana Suprun is a driving force behind systemic healthcare reform in Ukraine and a steadfast advocate for patient-centered, evidence-based patient care,” said Nelya Melnitchouk, MD, MSc, FACS, Co-Founder and CEO of GMKA, surgical oncologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. “Her expertise will significantly strengthen GMKA’s vision and accelerate our efforts to improve the quality and safety of care for patients across Ukraine.”
Dr. Suprun has been closely engaged with GMKA’s work for several years, including serving as a keynote speaker at GMKA’s first and second national “Women in Medicine” forums in 2024 and 2025. She has been a strong advocate for initiatives that promote professional development and leadership opportunities for women in medicine.
