The Global Medical Knowledge Alliance has sponsored a Basic Life Support (BLS) course provided by the European Resuscitation Council for the staff of the Liver, Pancreatic Surgery, and Peritoneal Malignancies Department at the Kyiv Regional Oncology Center. This initiative is part of GMKA’s ongoing Quality Improvement in Healthcare Delivery program. All 17 department employees, including the head, doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants, participated in the training.
The BLS course comprised 8 hours of comprehensive theoretical and practical training focused on enhancing emergency care skills, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Participants were trained to swiftly recognize cardiac arrest, perform high-quality CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED) correctly, work effectively in a resuscitation team, and clear airway obstructions.
Medical staff have completed the course, earning European Resuscitation Council certificates recognized globally, along with 30 continuing professional development (CPD) points for doctors.
This BLS training significantly enhances the survival and recovery chances for cardiac arrest patients. The European Resuscitation Council course is highly regarded as a vital program for life-saving professionals.
