National Forum with International Participation 'Quality & Safety in Healthcare'

The National Forum with International Participation “Quality & Safety in Healthcare” will take place on September 26, 2025, at BANKHOTEL in Lviv, Ukraine. This high-level event is dedicated to the core pillars of a patient-centered healthcare system — Quality and Safety (Q&S).

Forum Agenda Highlights

  • Why should quality be a clinical priority?
Culture of safety is not about punishment, but about learning, support, and growth.
  • How does enthusiasm become systemic change?
We will explore structured approaches to quality and safety (Q&S), strategies for implementation that account for human factors and resistance to change.
  • Why do data and strong teams matter?
Learn how to unite healthcare professionals around shared goals through leadership, trust, and common values.
Participants will gain insight into modern approaches to Q&S across key areas of medicine, including:
  • Oncology
Effective screening, coordinated multidisciplinary teams, optimized protocols, treatment safety controls, standardized diagnostics, and dignified palliative care.
  • Surgery, Anesthesiology, and Intensive Care
Standardized preoperative assessments, nursing quality and safety, effective team communication, and use of QI tools to reduce complications and increase system reliability.
  • Military Medicine
Standards and algorithms under combat conditions, precision in action, coordination and training from evacuation to stabilization, Q&S strategies, simulation-based learning, intersectoral cooperation, and systemic care at the frontline.

What is Q&S?

Quality & Safety (Q&S) refers to the systems, processes, behaviors, and culture that reduce risk, prevent harm, and support consistent, evidence-based care. The STEEEP framework defines high-quality care:
  • Safety – Avoiding harm
  • Timeliness – Reducing delays
  • Efficiency – Optimal use of resources
  • Effectiveness – Evidence-based interventions
  • Equity – Fair, unbiased care
  • Patient-Centeredness – Respecting individual needs and values
